Jay Robinson — General Contractor & Co-Founder
Jay Robinson came to Phoenix the way a lot of people do — through the military. He was stationed here in 1993 after leaving Dallas, fell in love with the Valley, and never left. He served in the Air Force and carried what that experience builds into him long after his service ended: discipline, attention to detail, and the understanding that the quality of your work reflects the quality of your character. What the Air Force didn’t give him, he was born with — a need to build things with his hands. Long before there was a business, Jay was the person in the family who figured out how to do it himself, learned what he didn’t know, and did it right.
In 2019, he made it official and earned his Arizona general contractor’s license. Then Covid hit, and the home renovation industry caught fire. The timing that might have felt like bad luck turned out to be the opposite — the demand was there, the skills were there, and Jay was ready. Wise Construction grew fast and has kept growing. He runs every job personally, on-site, and holds his crews to the same standard he holds himself. Ask him what he does for fun and he’ll tell you he watches the Cowboys — born and raised a fan, and he’ll tell anyone who’ll listen that he came into this world with a Cowboys logo birthmark under his big toe to prove it. He and his wife Tara have four children — two sons and two daughters. The sons are already learning their trades and are being groomed to carry the family business forward. Jay will tell you he’s the happiest he’s ever been. It shows in the work.
